Study Guide Due Thursday!

Study Guide Due Thursday!

Let me know if you find any of this challenging so we can go over it in class tomorrow.  Green class-  We didn't have the chance to review in class today, so we will need to review tomorrow.  It may be harder for you to complete it tonight, but don't be discouraged.  We will review more tomorrow.

For everyone, the study guide includes multiplying fractions...  Find a hint below and a video to review what you need to do!

Have a great night!

Volume!

It was a blast playing with our building blocks today in class!  Do your best on the worksheet tonight and if you get stuck, grab the blocks you used to play with when you were younger, or play around on the computer with your drawing tools to try to make each shape on your own!  We will spend quite a bit of time looking at our shapes in 3D tomorrow, so if you feel frustrated, I promise it will be better in class tomorrow!

Remember, the first dimension is length.  Like a line.

The second dimension is area.  Any flat item.

The third dimension is depth.  Any solid figure.

The fourth dimension is time.  Where a solid figure exists at any given point in space and time.

The Fifth Dimension is a singing super group from the 70's...

Have a great night and complete both sides of tonight's volume worksheet!

Nets of a cube!

Today we explored nets a bit more!  We built tetrahedrons, hexahedrons, octahedron, dodecahedrons, and icosahedrons yesterday, but today we only worked on hexahedrons, otherwise known as cubes!

There are eleven unique possible nets that can be used to create a cube and you worked in small groups to discover all of them!  These are the answers:

Have a good night!  We're going to play with shapes again tomorrow!!!!  No Homework!

Platonic Solids!

Today we made platonic solids in our classroom!

You can make all five platonic solids using the nets above.  Or you can Google each of the shapes for larger templates.  Color them in, cut them carefully and tape them up!

Tonight's homework is to bring in your box if you haven't brought one in yet!

Have an awesome day and enjoy the nice weather!

Find a box!

Tonight's homework is to bring in a box by Wednesday.  It must be something that you wouldn't mind being used in class.  IT MAY GET DAMAGED, so don't bring in anything precious!  Keep it shoe box size or smaller.  The funkier the shape, the better!!!

Check out the videos from class today in the post two posts ago!
