Integer creations!

Everyone did a great job on the integers in class today!!!  I hope to post and photograph them tomorrow!  So many of you are creative and artistic and impressed me tremendously!

Tonight's homework is to complete the new integer worksheet.  It is a bit longer and more difficult that the last two nights of HW, but I think that you will all do a fine job!  Work carefully and think about each step.

Nice work today!

Integer war!!!!!

Thanks!

Thank you so much for your feedback on the blog and SmartBoard lessons!  I am excited about using your ideas and taking you comments to heart!

More games, more videos (both mathy and just fun), and I am going to see about actually posting downloadable homework on the blog (not sure if this will work, but I'm going to try!)

As you know, tonight's homework is to complete the Order in the Court worksheet, both sides.  I know that many of you finished during class, so enjoy a "night off" if you did!  :)

Thanks again for your help and insight!  See you tomorrow!!!

11-13 year old Inventors!

Prosthetic Hand of the Day

A Girl Scout troop from Iowa has invented a prosthetic device that allows a three-year-old girl to write with her fingerless right hand. The Flying Monkeys, a robotics team of 11 to 13-year-old Girls Scouts, built the device, called the BOB-1 for the FIRST Lego League competition.
Danielle, the three-year-old who tested the device, was able to hold a pencil with her right arm and write for the first time. It worked so well that the Flying Monkeys won $20,000 to be used for a patent on the invention.

A bit more OoO and a review of exponents

Today we spent some time working on Order of Operations word problems...  Really nice work in class!

I know that OoO is a bit of a pain, but it is really, Really, REALLY important to write out each step!

Tonight's homework is to complete both sides of the Chapter two review (skip #12-18) and Order of Operations worksheet.  You may use a calculator on the Ch. 2 review side only!  Show all work on the OoO side!

Thanks guys!  I think that you are all # 1^273  (one to the 273rd power)
